The best maintained territory in the port of Liepaja- “DG Termināls” LSEZ Ltd.
Today Liepaja Special Economic Zone (LSEZ) General Manager Guntars Krievins and Deputy General Manager Janis Lapins announced the best-maintained territories in the port of Liepaja. These companies care about their territory maintenance every day, make improvements, pay attention to environmental problems, including waste management and waste sorting. First place and commemorative sign with inscription “Best maintained territory in the port of Liepaja` 2015” received “DG Termināls” LSEZ Ltd., followed by 2nd place - “Baltic Transshipment Center” LSEZ Ltd. and 3rd place – “Tosmares kuģu būvētava” JSC.
Liepaja SEZ Authority participated in exhibition “Transit Kazakhstan”
Liepaja Special Economic Zone authority participated in international transport and logistics exhibition “Transit Kazakhstan”. The exhibition took place on 16-18 September. The 19th exhibition this year was hold in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Minister of Transport will actualize question about restoration of railway section from Lithuanian border
Today in work visit in Liepaja arrived Minister of Transport of the Republic of Latvia – Anrijs Matiss. During the visit was discussed different infrastructure projects of the port of Liepaja- finished projects and those, which are only in planning period. Actualized was also question about restoration of railway section from Lithuanian border. Now this section has been dismantled, but restoration of it would increase accessibility of the port of Liepaja and also its competitiveness.
“Liepaja Bulk Terminal Ltd” LSEZ Ltd. introduces with the terminal
September 15 (2015), “Liepajas Bulk Terminal Ltd” LSEZ Ltd. opened its doors to the citizens of Liepaja, to show them how work in the terminal is operated and how they take in grain and load them in vessels. Company also informed about activities already done and those who are planned in the future, to prevent grain dust from leaving the territory of the terminal.
In August, cargo turnover in the port of Liepaja - 294 857.46 tons
In August (2015), companies in the port of Liepaja handled 294 857.46 tons of different type of cargos. As Guntars Krievins, Liepaja Special Economic Zone General Manager pointed out, main product group in the port of Liepaja is agricultural production and its turnover is influenced by seasonality. Due to the colder weather in early summer months, this year’s grain season started later – in early September. Now, dry bulk cargo terminals work actively. Total cargo turnover in the first eight months has a slight increase and has reached 3 365 999.17 tons.
